Ministries

Baby Ministry:  This Ministry is centered at St. John's Outreach Center in Dayton. We are offering help to new mothers of babies from newborn thru one year old.  This Ministry is providing help in several different ways - clothes, furniture, essentials, etc.  Candidates for this ministry should complete a Registration Form and once qualified we would help them with donated goods.  Contact St. Johns at (775) 246-2587.

Breakfast:  These are held at the Outreach Center on the 1st Wednesday of every month from 8:30 am.  Breakfast is free and open to all.

Flag Ministry:  We are proud to raise and lower the flags at the Desert Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Silver Springs as part of our outreach ministry.  The flags are raised on all official Flag Days.

Food Bank:  Throughout the year, we will be collecting non-perishable foods for the Silver Springs and Stagecoach Food Pantry.  We are also collecting unused coupons for the Pantry.

Kids Kloset: This Ministry is also centered at St. John's.  Here we offer clothes for school age boys and girls.  We have clothes of all sizes and application should be made to St. John's in Old Town, Dayton.  Telephone (775) 246-2587

Outfit for Interview Ministry:  At the Outreach Center we have the professional help of a resume writer and a hairdresser. Both are giving of their services free-of-charge.  Candidates for the ministry should complete a Registration Form and once qualified, we would help them with donated goods.  We supply the prospective "interviewee" with an outfit, which they will wear to any Job interviews they take part in.  Once they have secured a position they my return to the Service center and receive a second outfit for work.

Party Dresses: Quite often girls miss out on attending a party for lack of something to wear.  We can help.  At St. John's in Old Town, Dayton we may have just the right dress for that Special Occasion.  Telephone (775) 246-2587 to arrange a fitting.

Prayer Warriors:  For any outreach to be a success, one of the most important ministries is that of Prayer in support of all that is going on.  We have a "Captain of the Prayer Warriors" and would like to add to the team.  This is something you can do from your own home.  If you need prayer, please contact us and we will send your request to the Captain, Milan Smiley.

Service Personnel:  We at St. Hugh's never waver in our gratitude to those brave men and women who give of themselves to protect our country.  One small way in which we show our support is by collecting toiletories and other personal items which are then given to a central office who send them overseas.  The collecting box is proudly displayed at St. Hugh's.
