Ministries

Baby Ministry:  At the Outreach Center we will be offering help to new mothers of babies from newborn thru one year old. This Ministry will provide help in several different ways - clothes, furniture, essentials, etc.  Candidates for this ministry should complete a Registration Form and once qualified we would help them with donated goods.

Breakfast:  These are held at the Outreach Center on the 1st Tuesday of every month from 8:30 am until 10:00 am.  Breakfast is free and open to all.

Counseling:  A professional licensed Counselor, who offers family and individual counseling; drug and addiction counseling; and counseling for those suffering from PTSD, has offered his services to St. John's Episcopal Outreach Center.  Fees will be on a nominal sliding-rate scale and he has offered to donate some of the proceeds to the Center.

Food Bank:  Throughout the year, we will be collecting non-perishable foods for the Dayton Food Pantry.  We are also collecting unused coupons for the Pantry.

Foster Grandparents:  As so many families these days are separated by great distances, we do not have the support of our "nuclear family".  To help a little with this, we have secured the help of several people from the Senior Center who would like to be "foster grandparents" for small children.  They would be available at the Outreach Center at specified times so that young mothers would be able to drop their children off for a couple of hours - which they could then use to do something just for them.

Kids' Klothes Kloset:  A fine selection of clothes for school age children are available.

Mom-to-Mom Ministry:  We are giving all Moms with children a place to meet at the Outreach Center.  It will give a Mom chances to meet and talk with other Moms, so they can share experiences, mix with others, have children be able to mix and have a chance during the day to have another adult to interact with.

Outfit for Interview Ministry:  At the Outreach Center we have the professional help of a resume writer and a hairdresser. Both are giving of their services free-of-charge. Candidates for the ministry should complete a Registration Form and once qualified, we would help them with donated goods. We supply the prospective "interviewee" with an outfit, which they will wear to any Job interviews they take part in. Once they have secured a position they my return to the Service center and receive a second outfit for work.

Party Dresses:

Prayer Warriors:  For any outreach to be a success, one of the most important ministries is that of Prayer in support of all that is going on.  We have a "Captain of the Prayer Warriors" and would like to add to the team.  This is something you can do from your own home.  If you need prayer, please contact us and we will send your request to the Captain, Milan Smiley.
